SlowBlast! is a program that will let you learn virtually anything from CD - chords, lyrics, solos, vocal stylings, bird calls or WHATEVER.
It works by slowing down any passage you select while retaining the original pitch and sound of the original, all with unprecedented sound quality.
1) When you come to a portion of music that you'd like to slow down, press the button with the red circle (Record) in the "Loop Recording" section of the SlowBlast! screen. Let the CD play until the section that you'd like to work with is complete, then press the Stop Recording button (the button with red rectangle next to Record button). Because it takes a while to slow down each section of music, we suggest working with sections of 5-15 seconds at a time. The Length indicator in the Loop Recording section gives you the length of the current section.
2) Once you've recorded a section, set the percentage of slowdown by dragging the "Loop PlayBack" slider. At its initial default of 60%, for instance, the loop will playback at 60% of full speed.
3) Hit the green triangle (playback) button underneath the percentage readout. A few seconds will pass while the computer processes the audio, and then playback of the slowed-down sound will start. The loop will play back until you hit the stop button. Note that the duration of the slowdown process depends on the length of the recorded section, the slowdown percentage (slower takes longer), and the speed of your computer.
